Last week the Daily Mail published the supposed list of BBC presenters and their rating/ranking as according to the BBC. At the top of the list, among the "most valuable" presenters were unsurprisingly all three of the Top Gear Presenters and Stephen Fry amongst others.
Notable omissions from the list include people like Graham Norton, Jonathon Ross and - of course - John Barrowman, which means the list must have been for documentary type programmes. Technically I suppose Top Gear is a documentary and QI is a game show for intelligent people (and Alan Davis - only kidding Alan).
Anyway, it got me briefly thinking about how the BBC might rate their actors. You know the ones, they turn up in multiple BBC productions and are now household names. For example; John Simm, Philip Glenister, Keeley Hawes, Anthony Head, anyone who has guested in Merlin this year, and so on. Of course that list also needs to include the apparent man of the moment; David Tennant.
David Tennant is what this Christmas is all about. No, really, I'm not kidding. The man is everywhere. If you don't like him then tough because this Christmas you can't get away from him, which for fans like me is wonderful. He's doing 5 things with Catherine Tate, starting with Never Mind the Buzzcocks in... oooh... 5 minutes. I would like to point out that "The End of Time" only counts as one of those things and Doctor Who Confidential doesn't count at all. But other than that he's in about 10 things this Christmas, from drama to comedy, from game shows to radio. If you don't believe me, here is a new challenge for you.
Today I bought the Christmas Radio Times - it has a picture of Santa with a Dalek on the front (please Santa don't let there be any Daleks in the Christmas episode). The main reason I bought it was because there is a cute picture of Davey T inside with a beard and glasses and a where's wally jumper. There are also more pictures inside, which obviously lead to me pointing them out when my housemate was looking through it, which lead to the obvious challenge of counting the pictures. By my counting there are 20 pictures of David Tennant in the Radio Times. Yes, 20!!! Some of them are repeated but it still counts.
So this is my challenge, can you find all 20 pictures of David in the Radio Times? Bet you anything you won't the first time you go through it. But let me know how you get on.
Anyway, gotta dash now, got Buzzcocks to watch.
Hmmmmm, David, here I come.
